Many hopsitals are in need of nurses but due to the economy cannot afford to pay a full time nurse and are thus rellying on travel nurses to fill in the gaps.

Many travel nursing agencies like Aya Healthcare are actually being innundated with requests from hospitals and other healthcare facilities for nurses which in turn is making the salaries of travel nurses higher.
